Teachers of the Year Spotlight
Pre-K through 4th Grade Teacher of the Year- Becky Howell
Mrs. Becky has 22 years of teaching experience, including 20 years at DES, where she teaches 2nd grade. She has been married for 22 years and is the proud mom of four boys—one at DES, two at Smith County High School, and one at TTU. She also loves spending time with her family and her animals.
5th-8th Grade Teacher of the Year- Jessica West
Mrs. Jessica teaches 4th and 5th grade ELA and has been at DES for 15 years. She lives in the Defeated community with her husband Josh and thier 3 children. Her oldest attends SCHS and the two youngest attend DES.
